Training & Capacity Building programs conducted by BSSK

ASHA Training

BSSK is the one of the certified organisations to facilitate ASHA training under the National Health Mission. Training facilities have been set up to organize different trainings. The training center has facilities for providing residential training to a batch of 80 trainees. BSSK has separate accommodation for trainers. Teaching aids like LCD projector, stand screen, digital camera, laptop and amplifiers are available. CINI (Child In Need Institute) organizes it's ASHA training programme here on a regular basis. Each year more that 400 ASHA workers are being trained through BSSK as per NHM guidelines.

DROWNING Project Training

Sundarbans  area is a rural, forested region where children are exposed to a high risk of  drowning due to its waterlogged geography. Drowning is a major cause of death  among children in the Sundarbans,particularly those aged 1 to 4 years.  So, Interventions keeping children in safe  spaces away from water are urgently required. Baikunthapur sishu seva Kendra initiated  drowning prevention activities in our Kultali Block  . We have taken a survey on drowning in  five Grampanchyat ( Maipith Baikunthapur,Gurguria  Bhubaneshwari ,Deulbari Debipur, Gopalgang, Meriganj ii)  of Kultali Block. In last three years  drowning cases are found near 207age under 0 to 5 yrs. , It also highlights public awareness and  engagement to strengthen drowning prevention interventions by provision of day-care, basic swimming and water safety  skills, and safe rescue and resuscitation training.Awareness Training camp on  Drowning Prevention with ASHA,ICDS,  at  BSSK(23/01/23)
